I started playing The Ascent, I do dig the cyberpunk atmosphere.
I played bitburner for a bit (heh). It helped me so much to practice js coding, I was so rusty. It is free BTW.
Insomnia, but in a positive way.
I lose my phone inside my house all the time, so I created a working prototype of a button connected to the wifi, and upon pressing it, my phone will ring for me to find it.
Woke up thinking how to design a 3d printed case for it so I can use a regular mechanical keyboard switch, and now I am too revved up to sleep. And I can’t work on it on the pc, don’t want to wake up everyone as it is 4 am here.
My cats are keeping me company :D
Also I want to recommend Birday, it is a very simple birthday manager, and you can import birthdays from your calendars.
I intend to use this to remember birthdays and actually call people on their phones.

NeverTooManyBooks.
I have several books cases and shelves where I store books, this has helped me a lot to have a catalogue of them.
I just scan the book code, the app gets book info, and I assign it to a place where it is physically stored, like, bookcase 1 in office room, shelf 3 on main room, etc.
I have it installed from Droid-ify which is like an app to have more sources for f-Droid.

I am a team manager, on status meetings on fridays I always ask if someone has good plans for the weekend, and on monday I ask how was your weekend.
I get a lot of silence, and most of the time I tell some bits of what I did, but from time to time someone tells something about what they did.
I think that is good for the team, since we are all remote, it’s a little bit of socializing and have something to talk about other than work.
Lol if I have learned on my years on this planet is to not care what other people think about me.
Others are preparing to refuse to comply with either demand, countering the companies’ ultimatums with one of their own: Shut up or fire me.
This is me. I let them know I will not comply with the expectation of going back to office, not even once a week.
Couple months have passed and nothing else has happened, or was not fired, but I am preparing new gigs.
Also I have been in the company for 15+ years.
Sadly tildes is invite only it seems.
Yeah I thought about this, we (or I) never considered all the time wasted in commute.
In that case I should leave at 9 am, and return around 4:20 since I make 40 mins commute.
Either that or get paid the extra time, which honestly I don’t think it’s going to happen.
Thanks, yeah I think it’s a better idea to actively look for a new job now.
As you say certs can come later, but definitely I have to get more certs, I have slept on that one for so long just because I was cozy in my current job.
Yes, I am old enough to know that you are selling your expertise and time.
The company obviously profits a lot more that what you receive.
Also I always cringe with this “family” stuff on any company, that is just a way to manipulate the employees into creating a relationship with the company.
That is what I’m hoping, that they would be flexible enough, I can still be here amicably some time, but I will start doing more certifications and basically prepare to jump ship later.
Obviously the company will be expecting that I will be doing this, so the relationship at this point is broken, just a matter of time.
Moving equipment is one of my main issues, only second to commuting.
We don’t have fixed desks, we have to sign up in an app and choose an available space.
So I can’t have my desk the way I want, which is very specific as I have my keyboard, mouse, second keyboard, and also 2 external monitors, in the office there is only 1.
And yeah, if I have to, I would accept like going once every 2 weeks, on a friday, with the assumption that it is going to be a slow day for me and my client should be notified of this.
That was a figure of speech haha.
I am old and experienced enough to work exactly the hours I am paid. I give my 100% on those hours, I am all in, and I always push back when they try to sneak a meet after my EOD, try to get some extra hours from me and so on.
Love me for what I am, by Carpenters.
