I still am struggling to find articles that actually delve into the technical details of how they’re blocking and if it’s any more complicated than a DNS-level block or if they’re also demanding to block that IP range or what. Good on them for getting an audit and making the code publicly auditable, but I really would like to hear an opinion from some folks who are more involved in cryptography on whether this is Discord being genuine and doing the right thing, or is it Discord trying to use Public Relations and weasel words to make it seem like they’re doing the right thing.
