This law which is still a draft will be revised to be more progressive and less restrictive than the current draft-version made by health minister Karl Lauterbach. Yesterday in parliament the governing coalition also called Ampel or traffic light coalition, reaffirmed their intent to fix the draft to be less restrictive and less bureaucratic. They aim at providing a liberal cannabis law that puts human rights, health and protection of the youth first. The opposition parties cdu and the rightwing afd criticized the project and regurgiated numerous prohibition talking points.

End of year or early next year German citizens can expect to enjoy the occasional Cannabis without fear of persecution.
