Actually, I just read the article a little more closely, and it says that 27% support assisted suicide where the only affliction is poverty, while
20% support assisted suicide for ALL people regardless of circumstance.
So once you factor out the people that believe assisted suicide should be available to everybody, that leaves 7% of respondents who don’t support assited suicide for ANYONE who wants it, but do think that those afflicted by severe poverty should have the option available to them.
7% is a lot less than 1/3.
And even then, there may be other factors at play.
For example that 7% may include people who support the right to assisted suicide for the VAST majority of people, but with exceptions like for children, or those mentally unfit to make such a decision.
