I have a theory that there is a impossible trinity (like in economics), where a food cannot be delicious, cheap and healthy at the same time. At maximum 2 of the 3 can be achieved.
Is there any food that breaks this theory?
Edit: I was thinking more about dishes (or something you put in your mouth) than the raw substances
Some popular suggestions include
- fruits (in season)
- lentils
Roasted brussel sprouts with butter and parmesan cheese
That’s not cheap at all, at least where I live
$2 for a bag of pre shredded parmesan
$1.50 for frozen brussel sprouts
$1.25 for a stick of salted butter
You’ll get 2 small meals out of this, $2.37 for a small meal isn’t exactly expensive. Realistically, it’s even cheaper because you won’t be using the whole pack of cheese or all the butter. Your main expense will be the $1.50 per bag of veg depending on how many you want to make
I guess it depends on your region and prices. These ingredients aren’t as cheap where I live.
$8.5 for 200g of parmesan versus your $2 170g parmesan.
$2.44 for 400g of frozen brussel sprouts vs your $1.5 340g brussel sprouts.
$8.4 for 400g of salted butter vs your $4.98 ~450g butter
In my region this would make a meal around $10, which is quite expensive if you consider that it’s just simple vegetables.
