    That’s always been my argument. Updates for the OS or even apps in Google Play should be presented immediately if the user is doing a manual check for updates. Sure, continue the staged rollouts, but only for those who are updating automatically.

    The check for updates button has been working fine for a few years now but as of this month my Pixel 8 is still on the November patch. My wife’s Pixel 6 is on the December patch after I did a manual check on her phone. Frustrating.

      I’m so glad I read this because I was going crazy wondering why my Pixel 7a wasn’t getting the update despite constantly checking manually. Guess I’ll just keep waiting.

    Updates have been getting better though it depends on the company.

    Samsung and Google are leading the updates, but a lot of companies would sell you a phone with two years of updates (Asus for example).

    There are also worse brands that barely support their phones.

    Used to envy apple users with their updates. It’s getting better now.

    Its been what, 5 days since the december Pixel update and I still haven’t got it, i’ve checked for updates like daily since and so far nothing. Anyone else have this issue? I have a Pixel 7.

    Wait, we’re seeing less frequent updates as a bad thing now? Sorry, but stability is something I really like about my phone.
