I don’t mean to imply anything, but this post was listed maybe one scroll away from the piracy community welcoming everyone to SimpleX. Unfortunate timing.

That’s a fair assessment
I’ll probably have some tea, thanks :) Feel better now that I’ve slept
Considering all the provocation, I can’t say Israel might not be illegitimate. Did that offend you or scratch the wrong nerve? Maybe violence is never the right answer, but simpy the easier or even only one.
Sorry it had to be you, I’m probably looking for a fight right now. World’s been on my nerve.
No, that can’t be right, Black Flag released just a few years ago … I remember it like it’s yesterday …
I think it referred to its impulse rather than momentum, aka v*m. The cartoon might be a bit flawed though, as the car is stationary (or at least we can assume it is) relative to the spectator, so the impulse would be 0 and mass irrelevant. PS: Not a quantumphysicist, not even a normal physicist or even remotely related to the field.
It depends on the kind. There are groups that would prefer to see human presence reduced to a speck so nature can thrive. There are groups that somehow care for one single bog or meadow but fail to see the bigger picture. There are also those that simply want to protect everything and do support large projects provided they fulfill a lot of regulations. There are also people such as myself who have given themselves to Realpolitik: Local environmentalism is pointless if global protection fails (some drama added for effect)
I mean, I can understand the reaction. But wtf is this post, glorifying vigilantism. On a minor note: wtf is this post, the text colour, the caption, the needless emoji, the weird … hastag-like things at the end.
Something to remember: thicker filaments, while they do last longer, worsen the ratio of light to heat.
Well, they had me there. Fair point.
I always wondered how people could talk or think about burning books and not consider themselves to be a villain. Wth, I probably wouldn’t even burn Mein Kampf or Mao’s red book and you want to burn novels you’ve enjoyed because the writer endorses a politician.
A child born into winter will experience summer soon enough unless something bad happens. I’m certainly not an expert on babies and their development, but I’d think it matters little. A more interesting topic might be the pregnancy - fetal development sets the course for the next few years or even decades, I’m thinking about epigenetic imprinting. That would certainly have an influence, but since we do not have mating seasons (well, spring and december maybe) I’d wager the impact is comparably low.
It’s going to be very hard having the same opinion for all of these (somewhat abstract) instances - considering how wildly incompatible some of these are.
EDIT: Also, wrong (but arguably original) use of template.
Trust me bro(ette): Rubber duck is the SHIT. I don’t even program save for a few rare instances, but any complex issue where you just know something is wrong but can’t quite put your finger on it? It works miracles. A lot better tbf if you are actually explaining it to someone who can ask questions, but any object that you can look at is a good substitute.
How do you do something “in the name of Atheism”? You are being pedantic. These were/are crusades against the culture and faith of a different people. One could argue that they are not “genocides” and it needn’t even be in bad faith. Your “assuming 100% accuracy”-statement on the other hand disgusts me, no offense intended. People are suffering, at least aknowledge the fact.
Goodness, you are right: I entirely forgot to name the Holocaust (which probably isn’t what you were going for). That could certainly be considered genocide against a religion.
I mean … I guess you could consider the planned extermination of Nepalese culture and faith or the concentration camps full of Uyghurs for “re-education” an attempt at genocide if you wanted to use the term very liberally?
Which is highly populated by .ml (such as you, which is not an inherently negative thing) and people that probably come from that line of thinking. Tbf I did not check what instance the people in question were on, so you are right for calling me out on simply assuming so. Regardless, OP was posting somewhat controversial statements and was met with a crowd that considers the statements “police officers are humans, too” to be controversial.
Eh, avoid “News” and “Politics” servers like lemmy.world - it’s really a US-centric community and you know how these are (the server in itself is fine, don’t get me wrong). Also, avoid the .ml community. Period.
Consider getting a therapist, this sounds very unhealthy.
