This is hilarious lol. The fuckwit himself (Spez) forced subreddits to reopen with an iron fist and now we’re starting to see the consequences. Schadenfreude at its finest
They make bank from Nitro but probably not at the same level as reddit with its premium membership and advertising service. If Discord double dipped and showed ads to non-Nitro users it might be a different story.
I’m sure it’ll happen around the same time that Discord moderators begin to get paid
If it’s anything like /r/pics, it would be safe to assume those in favour of John will win by a long shot
Excellent news! It’s so lovely to see lemmy.world and the threadiverse as a whole grow. It’s only gonna get bigger from July 1st

I wouldn’t go back to reddit as a poster/commentator if they reversed their decision. But rather I would continue to use it as a resource, as I usually find typing in “<query> reddit” into Google to be far more useful and time saving than sifting through irrelevant search results and clickbait news articles for a simple question.
Firefox because of its wide variety of addons and cause I sync between a Windows PC
I’m about your age, and I have to wholeheartedly agree. Lemmy has that old forum vibe and I’m all for it.
