Oh believe me, even though I thought it was a good read, I have a lot of criticism for the story. God forbid literally any kind of emergency happens and additional fuel is needed to avoid catastrophe. I get wanting to maximize space for supplies, but the risk far outweighs the benefits of operating on such tight margins.

True trash-tier software and hardware. Last year I was having trouble with frequently dropped packets from my office computer. I thought it was a Spectrum issue until I tore everything out and started testing all my ports (modem, router, wall ports, etc). I FINALLY narrowed it down to the relatively new TP-Link dumb router I bought. I threw that piece of trash in the garbage.

Never again.

Same deal here. I went to a college party with an acquaintance and he did a line for the first time while we were there. He made SUCH a fool of himself the whole night. I’ve been deterred ever since. I never want to lose complete control like that ever.

I had to switch from kdenlive to DaVinci Resolve recently and it breaks my heart. I’m by no means a professional, but I am a heavy user who is frequently sifting throughout footage. Unfortunately, crashes are still very common for a power user. After encountering a memory corruption bug for the second time that resulted in lost project work (despite saving to disk!!!), I had to switch to something better.

I played this game for Christmas with my parents! For fun, they offered me $10 or a scratch-off. For the heck of it, I took the scratch-off and won $40. With the way my luck went last month, I’d have to pick the lottery ticket.

Last month, the power adapter to my router died out of nowhere. I wasted a ton of time troubleshooting literally everything else other than the power adapter because I’ve never had one die before the actual device itself.

Of course none of the other adapters I had on hand fit. I had to order a new one…

You ain’t lying. Most of the bartenders at my favorite bottle shop / brewery are teachers doing a side hustle. They need the money.

I also work for Big Corp and you hit the nail on the head. I saw big career growth this past year after I started working on a very visible project vs. when I was working on the small, technical stuff.

Have to agree. Discord added a forum post view to popular communities which is sorta like Reddit, but not really. For really large communities, the noise from high traffic channels is tough to filter out.
